1782 PS1 and PS2 games ready for European PS3

Prior to it’s March release Sony announced it had removed the PS2 hardware in the European PS3 model. This sparked widespread fear that few of the available PS1 and PS2 games would be playable on the new console. Now Sony has released a list of 1782 PS1 and PS2 games that will play on the PS3 through software emulation - much like XBOX games play on the XBOX 360. The games are rated in three categories:

Should play on PLAYSTATION®3 with some minor issues |
 |
Should play on PLAYSTATION®3 with noticeable issues |
The software emulators come packaged in the System Software Version 1.60 update and more games will be added to the list in new updates. The update can be downloaded through the PS3.
